Foinikounda is a coastal village of Messinia, which has developed into one of the most beautiful summer resorts of the southern Peloponnese. Everyone that visits the location has the best words to say and there are many tourists that came for vacations and eventually decided to stay there for a life. What it used to be a pirate base in the past is a present holiday haven of rest and relaxation.
The village is built in a cove bay, just across the complex of Oinousses that is composed of Sapienza, Schiza and Agia Mariana islands.

Foinikounta is situated in the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula, in Messenia, between Methoni and Koroni. It is around 63 km from the prefecture’s capital, Kalamata and the road trip lasts around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
